HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Today was Halloween, but it was Sunday so we celebrated Halloween pretty much all last week! Our kids had a Halloween parade and parties at school. Andrea and David were in the parade at their school, and Josh had a Halloween party at preschool. We had a Halloween Party with our Ward on Friday night and last night the kids went Trick-or-Treating with Mike.

Andrea was an Orange Princess - from a book she has read. She loves reading princess books and she decided that is what she wanted to be. Grandma Marilyn made her dress and Andrea was very excited to wear it for Halloween.

David was a Pirate! We went to Disneyland in May and David was so excited about Pirates when we were there. He got a bunch of Pirate stuff while we were there so that made his costume a bit easier. However I ended up making his vest. I haven't sewed clothes for a long time, but I managed to get it done. David was very excited to be a pirate for Halloween!

Josh really wanted to be Winnie the Pooh for Halloween. So that is what he was. He is such a sweet little boy and the costume fit him just right. He had a fun time being Winnie the Pooh especially since his brother Spencer was Tigger! When Spencer went trick or treating with Mike, Andrea, David and Josh around our neighborhood he was Tigger so he could stay warm! :)

Spencer had a fun time being Tigger and Thomas the Train! Spencer was Thomas the train at our Ward party and Mike and I dressed up as Super Man and Super Woman. Except Mike wore a sweater over his shirt the whole time at the party. He obviously didn't want to dress up. Oh well - I tried... :)

Anyway, we had a great time over the past few days, but are excited for the other holidays that are coming up too! :)

Happy Birthday Andrea!

I can't believe Andrea is 10 years old now!!! Her birthday was one week ago today on October 13, 2010 and she turned 10 years old! Andrea had a great day and it began with a pancake breakfast her dad made her! He even made the number 10 for her! Wow what a dad!

Andrea wanted to have a late night American Girl Doll pajama birthday party with her friends. So that is what we did. It was Fall Break for the kids at school the next two days after her birthday so it worked out great. Andrea and her friends had a great time at the party eating pizza, watching a movie in their pajamas and just having a good time together until 9:00 p.m.! Andrea was very happy with everything she got for her birthday - especially her zhu zhu pet stuff. She had a good time! We love you Andrea!

Pumpkin Contest!

David had a pumpkin contest in his 2nd grade class. He won the award for the tiniest eyes and nose! He decorated his pumpkin so well and did a great job!

Happy Birthday Spencer!

On September 25, 2010 it was Spencer's 2 year old Birthday! He had a fun time on his birthday! Spencer loves trains and so we got him a train table to put in our basement. He also got a Zhu Zhu pet (a pretend hamster that makes noise) from Andrea that he loves named Tex. I can't believe how big Spencer is and that he is already 2 years old!!! Spencer is talking a lot more and loves to play with his brothers and sister. He is such a fun little boy - we love him so much! :)

Our Finished Basement!!!

On September 20, 2010 we finished our basement! That was actually 3 years from practically the day that we moved into our home on September 20, 2007. We began finishing our basement around June 18th and it is now done. We pretty much have all our furniture, toys etc. that belong down there and Josh has his room back too. He had to sleep in Andrea's room while we were finishing our basement, but now he has his own room again - he was a trooper! It is so nice to have our basement finished and have more room in our home! :)

The Harvest Moon Hurrah!

On September 18, 2010 we went to the Harvest Moon Hurrah here in Spanish Fork. It is a little Fall Festival with kids activities etc. We had a fun time doing the different activities and being with our friends. The kids enjoyed painting on a mural, making bracelets, and getting their picture taken - that was their favorite thing to do - as you can see...ha ha ha :)

David Loves Karate!

David decided that he wanted to take karate lessons after we watched the movie "The Karate Kid!" as a family. He tried it 4 times and got a uniform at Omega Martial Arts Studio. After his 4 times were up he didn't want to stop so we signed him up and he loves it! He is a very good student and is learning a lot about self defense etc. It is so much fun for him! :)

Our Cute Kids!

I just had to put this on our blog...Our 3 handsome boys playing with Lego's! David's favorite thing to play with is Lego's!

Also, here is our beautiful daughter Andrea with her Dinosaur Diorama. She did a great job making this for her 4th grade class. She made the dinosaurs out of salt dough all by herself!

Tennis...

One of the things we all love to do is play tennis. Mike usually just takes the kids to play, but we all went this one particular day in September and had a blast! Here we all are playing tennis together! (I took the picture :)

Joshua's First Day of Preschool!

I can't believe Josh is 4 years old and in Preschool now! His first day of preschool was September 7, 2010. His teacher is Mrs. Amber and she is a great teacher. Josh loves his class and enjoys going to preschool. He asks me every day - "Do I go to preschool today?" He is learning a lot and loves preschool! :)

Our Trip to Island Park!

Our last big trip of the Summer as a family was to Island Park! We had a great time with Grandma and Grandpa Findley, Great - Grandma and Grandpa Cutler, Matt, Ruby and Link. It was so much fun to see everyone and spend time with them. We had a great time swimming, canoeing, going to the Playmill Theater to see Beauty and the Beast (thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Findley), shopping, and going to Yellowstone. We also had fun just hanging out in the tree house, playing horseshoes, and fishing. It was also fun to watch Spencer enjoy camping as much as he did! Here are a few pictures we captured of our trip to Island Park during the first week of August (Aug. 1 - 6).

Back to School!

Well, the summer flew by, but we had a great time together as a family! Since the 4th of July, we have done many things. I will have to highlight a few of them, but before I do, our kids have gone back to school! Today was their first day of school. They go to East Meadows Elementary School and Andrea is in 4th Grade. Her teacher is Ms. Johnson and she has a few friends in her class. David is in 2nd Grade and has Mrs. Warenski as his teacher. He also has a few friends in his class. They had a good first day and were excited to go back to school. Mom was excited to get back to a more structured schedule even though she will miss having her kids at home all day!

A FEW HIGHLIGHTS OF OUR SUMMER...

- One day I was giving Josh a bath and of course when I left for one second this is what I found...

Spencer in the bathtub just after I had gotten him all dressed and ready for the day! :) OH JOY!!! Of course I had to take a picture first and then get him all cleaned up once more...

- On July 10, 2010 we celebrated my Grandma Lancaster's 80th birthday at the Lion House. Just the adults went and so Mike and I were able to get a babysitter for our kids and enjoy the evening together. It was good to see my grandparents. I can't believe my grandma and grandpa are both in their 80's now! Wow - I hope I make it to 80! :)

- We went to my parent's house to have a little campout in their backyard. They got a firepit and so the kids had fun roasting marshmallows and sleeping on their new trampoline in the backyard with dad close by! :) Then the next morning we went to see Ashlyn and Hailey in the Draper Days parade for the 24th of July.

- On July 20, 2010 Spencer got his first "REAL" haircut with Dad and David. They all look so HANDSOME!!! :)
